Registered voters within the Newberg City Limits can sign the petition. Others can still help by circulating the petition or distributing the information flier.

Follows these steps to download the petition signature sheet, the required full-text amendment and the information flier.

Download the two-page NIP2010-1_Petition. Page 1 is for signatures and page 2 has the ballot title information and official instructions.  Both pages MUST be printed on one sheet of paper.

Download the two-page NIP2010-1_Text . The is the full text of the Newberg Charter Amendment.  Both pages MUST be printed on one sheet of paper.  If you circulate the petition, this full-text document MUST accompany the signature sheet.  Potential signers have the right to ask for it. NOTE: Do NOT staple the signature sheet and the amendment text sheet together!

Use ONLY standard printer paper:  White, 20-pound, 92-brightness for both documents.

Download the two-page TaxAndFeeFlier.  This is optional information flier written by Hank Grum.  It explains the reason for this charter amendment.  This flier does not have to accompany the petition documents if you circulate the petition to others, but it is useful for explaining the petition to others.  Some potential signers will be undecided about signing the petition. and ask for information to take with them.  The flier directs the reader to this web page for downloading a petition on their own.

Additional Instructions

First read the instructions on the signature sheet.

If you are the only person to sign it the sheet, enter your signature information on the first signature line. and then fill out the Circulator Declaration at the bottom of the signature sheet.

If others sign the same sheet, make sure that the signature dates are in chronological order, that is, the date on the second signature must NOT be earlier than the date on the first signature and so forth down the page.   Be sure to fill out the Circulator Declaration at the bottom of the signature sheet.

When you fill in the date, spell the name of the month.  Be certain that this date is NOT earlier than any date on the signature lines above it.

Important: Do NOT fill in the Sheet Number field.

If these instructions are not followed, one or more signatures could be disqualified!
